One thing to note at the event is the Spalliera, which is considered to be the event’s highlight. At the height of 21 meters, Italian artisans carefully crafted the display, and it boasts a total of 103,000 light bulbs. Be sure to check out this grand display at St Nick’s Square.
2. Christmas festivities on Great Street at Orchard Road
If you’re nearby Orchard Road after work or ticking off your Christmas shopping list, then check out the light decorations along the iconic shopping street. Take a few pictures to post on social media and show them off to your friends and relatives abroad if you’re not flying home this Christmas!
Nearby is the “Great Christmas Village,” where you can enjoy amusement rides, activities, live music, and many Christmas F&B options. There’s an all-white carousel to enjoy with the kids and workshops for tapestry weaving and clay modeling. Moreover, if you happen to pass by the Mandarin Gallery facade, look for the public multimedia 3D projection between 7 pm and 10 pm, which has many augmented reality features.
3. Museum of Ice Cream in Singapore
Do you love ice cream? This Christmas, the Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) has been transformed into one of Singapore’s most ‘instagrammable’ spots. This year’s theme is “Pinkmas”; visitors will discover a pastel-pink wonderland with festive installations, a sprinkles pool, and edible Christmas-themed desserts.
Upon arrival, prepare for a sugar rush by sampling their cup of pink hot chocolate and a scoop of peppermint ice cream. If you are looking for more sweet treats, head to the Scream Diner for some Apple Pie ice cream or pop to Ice Cream & Cookie Co to indulge in coconut or chocolate ice cream.
4. Christmas Odyssea at the Jewel Changi Airport
For those traveling out of Singapore this Christmas, be sure to pass by the HSBC Rain Vortex at Changi Airport. The water feature has been transformed into a magical light and sound show to mark the release of the latest movie sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water. And if you are into nature and looking for a beautiful backdrop, pay a visit to the Shiseido Forest Valley to view the iconic 16-meter-tall Prudential Singapore Christmas tree. It is going to be a dazzling experience for sure. If you are a fan of snow, then expect half-hourly snowfall intervals from 7:35 pm to 10:35 pm daily.
